Dr. Markiewicz was born and raised in the small town of Loranger, Louisiana, located just north of Hammond. She moved to Cleveland, Ohio, for podiatry school in 1998. Four years of snow was enough for Dr. Markiewicz, and she moved back to Louisiana for her medical residency. She completed her surgical residency training at Doctor’s Hospital in Metairie. Following completion of her residency, Dr. Markiewicz went directly into private practice for 5 years where she gained valuable experience in patient care and running an office. In 2009 she joined Gulf South Foot & Ankle, LLC, where she enjoys the camaraderie of the group practice setting.
She is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and has a robust clinical and surgical practice.
Dr. Markiewicz lives in Kenner with her husband and two young boys. Dr. Markiewicz's interests include trying new restaurants, drinking wine, updating her Facebook, and spending time with her husband and children.
She has maintained a residence in her home town of Loranger where she spends most weekends. Her home in Loranger is a working farm complete with chickens, pigs, horses, goats, and even emus. She enjoys the contrast of coming from a big city like New Orleans during the week to the slower paced lifestyle of her little home town of Loranger. She is passionate about podiatric care and preventative medicine. She also has a particular interest in the treatment of diabetic foot conditions.
